02Philosophy

We build the way we'd want our own homes built.

In much of Europe, finish carpentry, plaster, and stone work are apprenticeships — three to five years of training before you're trusted to swing a hammer alone. In California, where construction has scaled fast to meet demand, that depth of tradecraft has become rare.

We aren't trying to recreate Europe in California — the climate, the codes, and the materials are too different. What we do bring is the posture of European building: surfaces are prepared before they're finished, substrates matter as much as veneers, and details that only the homeowner will ever notice are still done right.

Combined with strict adherence to California building code, lien law, and licensing standards — that's our standard.

03Principles

Five principles
we don't negotiate.

These aren't slogans. They're the operating constraints we use to make decisions when nobody's watching.

01

Transparency, by default.

Every cost, every change, every decision — documented. If we make a mistake, you hear it from us first. If a material we recommended turns out to be the wrong call, we tell you. Trust isn't built on slogans; it's built on repetition.

02

Limited capacity, by design.

We take on a small number of projects each year. We won't be the cheapest. We won't always be the fastest. We will be the most attentive — because that's the tradeoff we've chosen to make.

03

The substrate matters as much as the surface.

Most paint failures are prep failures. Most tile failures are substrate failures. Most cabinet failures are install failures. We invest in the parts you can't see — because that's where longevity lives.

04

One point of accountability.

Every project has a single project lead from kickoff to walkthrough. No hand-offs, no "I'll have to check with...", no diluted responsibility.

05

California-strict, always.

Every contract complies with California Business & Professions Code §7159. Every payment is bound to verifiable progress. Every subcontractor is licensed. Every permit pulled. We don't take shortcuts on the legal side — because shortcuts there always cost the homeowner.

Construction craftsmanship
04The team

A small bench of trusted hands.

The studio is led by Sebastien Ferrante Carrante, who carries 20+ years of experience in design, photography, and craftsmanship — applied here to construction and project leadership.

Around him is a focused network of California-licensed trade partners — electricians, plumbers, HVAC, structural — who we've worked with long enough to know how each of them thinks. We don't bid out trades to the lowest cost on every project. We work with people we trust.

This is intentional. It's how we keep our finish quality consistent and our schedules reliable.
